Navigating Menopause and Anxiety

Navigating Menopause and Anxiety

Hi there. I’m Allanah Casey, a Clinical Psychologist specialising in women’s wellbeing. I’ve created a course on menopause and anxiety to help you navigate this challenging phase of life.

Why I Created This Course

From women in my life, both personally and clients in my psychology practice, I heard many of the same themes about menopause. These women commented on feeling isolated and confused about what was happening with their bodies and minds. Many felt they had to simply tolerate these symptoms, that pushing through was the best they could do.

Did you know that it’s common for women to experience menopause symptoms for up to 10 years? That’s a long time to just “muddle through”! This realisation inspired me to create a course that would equip women with a toolkit for managing the emotional challenges of menopause.

What does the course cover?

Changing hormones impact the nervous system, and for many women this brings anxiety and more difficulty managing stress. This course works through the most common tools I use with my clients to help them manage anxiety and stress effectively. While the focus is on anxiety, the tools I share can help with a range of common difficult emotions in menopause - anger and irritability, mood swings, low mood and feeling flat. Research shows that psychological tools can also have positive effects on physical symptoms, such as sleep issues and hot flushes, so you might find relief in these areas as well.

Here’s what you can expect from the course:

  1. A better understanding of menopause and why anxiety is so common during this time
  2. Techniques to calm your nervous system
  3. Strategies for working helpfully with difficult emotions
  4. Methods for building self-compassion
  5. Tools for managing anxious thoughts

My Hope for You

By the end of this course, I hope you’ll have a full toolkit and feel more equipped to handle anxiety and other challenging emotions that come during menopause. Remember, you don’t have to face this alone or simply endure it. There are ways to make this transition smoother and more manageable.

Let’s embark on this journey together, towards a more balanced and empowered menopause experience.
