About the creator
I’m Allanah Casey, a clinical psychologist who specialises in women’s wellbeing. I work with clients 1:1 to overcome challenges in their lives and improve their mental health.
My passion for women’s wellbeing began in a different challenging phase of my own life - trying to start a family. My experience of late-term pregnancy loss opened up all kinds of conversations with other women in my life. While struggling with my own pain, I was also humbled by the stories friends and colleagues shared with me about their own personal struggles.
My interest in the effects of hormones and the complexities women navigate led me to learn more about menopause. As a woman in my 30’s, I was surprised by how little I actually knew about menopause. The more I learnt, the more conversations I had with women about it. Both women in my personal life and women I was working with as a psychologist shared common challenges - feeling overwhelmed by menopause symptoms, feeling like their bodies and brains weren’t the ones they knew, confusion about what was happening for them, and struggling with anxiety, stress and overwhelm.
I also heard many women comment on having to ‘push on’ and ‘make the best of it’. So often as women we prioritise others’ needs, and demote our own. When it comes to menopause symptoms, there are a lot of things that make a difference. Lifestyle behaviours like nutrition, medical treatments, and psychological strategies are all practical ways that you can make your menopause symptoms more manageable. You don’t have to ‘just live with it’.
I’ve created this course to make the tools and strategies I share with my clients more accessible to women like you on your menopause journey. The course includes information to better understand anxiety in menopause, and to give you a full range of tools to work with anxiety and other difficult emotions during this phase of life. My approach won’t change your hormones, but it will help you manage the impacts of those changing hormones more effectively.
All the best.
